Things to do in Kenya / Itinerary :

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Transfer to Naivasha (1.5 hrs)
Arrival at Nairobi airport by flight
Transfer to your hotel in Naivasha in a private vehicle
In the evening, step out to Lake Naivasha to see Pink Flamingos.

Day 2: Naivasha – Masai Mara by road (3.5 hrs)
After breakfast, travel towards Kenya’s fertile highlands and head down the rift escarpment on the road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. On the way, spot the charming chapel built at the foot of the escarpment. Pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the valley to Narok; continue your travels past acres of wheat and barley, until your enter Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. Once in the Reserve, have your binoculars and camera at hand and keep your eyes peeled for game.
Reach your accommodation in time for lunch. After Lunch, set off on your first game drive, returning to your property as the sun sets.

Day 3: Half Day Masai Mara Game Drive

Day 4: Transfer from Masai Mara to Nairobi + Half day Nairobi City Tour

Tour : Half Day ‘Out Of Africa’ movie Experience (Karen Blixen & Giraffe Centre) at 4 pm
Following the footsteps of Karen Blixen as you travel towards Ngong Hills, you feel swept immediately onto the film set of ‘Out of Africa’ the moment you arrive. The old colonial farmhouse is simple, housing a few items that Karen Blixen chose and once enjoyed herself. There are also the colourful gardens to explore, where several old coffee machines have laid untouched for decades.
– Head to Giraffe Centre, where the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe lives in peace. With an elevated viewing and feeding platform. Interact carefully with these gentle giants and learn more about them from the rangers positioned around the centre. You can also feed the giraffes here.

* Optional In Nairobi –
Option 1: Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (Elephant Orphanage) can be booked 90 days in advance for Morning visit. It is situated on the outskirts of Nairobi, within the Nairobi National Park. The Sanctuary is run by Angela Sheldrick. This is an opportunity to view the orphaned wildlife and meet the people who handle and care for elephants.
Option 2: Bomas of Kenya
Bomas or traditional homestead of Kenya is a cultural center located in Langata, to experience the diverse cultures of Kenya’s different ethnic groups/ communities, and witness traditional dances, songs, and other cultural activities. Bomas is designed to represent the architectural styles of various Kenyan tribes- Kikuyu, Luo, Kalenjin, Maasai, and others. Visitors can learn about the traditional lifestyles, customs, and beliefs of these communities. The center also has a craft market (for traditional handicrafts like beadwork, carvings, and textiles), and a museum to showcase Kenyan history and culture


Day 5: Nairobi to Mombasa by flight + Mombasa City tour
After Breakfast, check out of hotel
Transfer to airport for the flight to Mombasa beach town (1 Hr flight)
City Tour: Tour around Mombasa town. The town dates to the 12th century when spice traders arrived from Arabia blown across on the Trade Winds. Visit the historic old quarter, dominated by the medieval Fort Jesus built by the Portuguese in the 16th Century, with its ancient mosques and narrow bustling streets, the old dhow harbor, central market, and including a visit to the Akamba wood carvers where you have the opportunity to see the carvers at work and buy souvenirs. Return to your hotel in time for a late lunch. (Excludes entry fee into Fort Jesus of US$12 per person payable locally) 

Day 6: Mombasa City – Day at Leisure

Day 7: Mombasa – Nairobi (1 Hr flight) + Flight back home

Famous Cities in Kenya:
* Nairobi: The capital and largest city, a major economic and political hub. it is the financial centre of the country.
* Mombasa: Kenya’s coastal capital, and the oldest city, serving as a vital port along the Indian Ocean coast. The city is known as the white and blue city in Kenya, as it houses beaches, historical monuments and marine parks. The UNESCO world heritage site Fort Jesus is also in Mombasa.
* Nakuru- It is the youngest Nairobi city. The city is known for its vibrant economy, breathtaking landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Nestled in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, Nakuru is home to the iconic Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and diverse wildlife.

Famous Food of Kenya:
Ugali – It is a Kenyan staple food made up of maize flour or millet flour (good source of iron). It is a stiff porridge made from cornmeal. The dish best goes with the soup, grilled meat, stews.
Nyama Choma – This dish tastes different every time because of its vivid flavours. It is a roasted meat (often goat or cow). The dish is generally seasoned with peppers and salt and cooked until its sauce becomes thick.
Mutura – It is sausage made up of meat and fresh blood. This dish is similar to Spanish morcilla or Irish black pudding. You may add green and red chillies, scallions, garlic, ginger. The dish is grilled over hot coal to give it a smokey flavour. It is generally served as an appetiser.
Mandazi – It is an African doughnut. The dish is prepared by frying dough in oil. To add flavour to the dough, coconut milk is preferred in some regions of kenya. The key ingredients of the Mandazi are eggs, flour, milk, yeast and sugar. The dish is best served as a snacking item and generally goes well with tea.
Kuku Paka (Kenyan chicken curry) – The dish is trendy on the East African coast. The influence of this came from Indian curry. The Kenyan curry is a bowl of heaven prepared from roasted chicken with tomatoes, ginger, coconut milk and other spices. The spices added to the dish gave it an aromatic flavour.
Pilau / Pilaf – It is the flavorful dish of rice. It is cooked with various aromatic spices, and flavoured broth with vegetables, chicken and meat. Spices makes this dish special. You can pair this dish with Kachumbari salad.
